Armstrong argues that compassion is the core, fundamental idea behind Christianity, Islam and Judaism, and she is working to help people of faith rediscover this principle.
Armstrong has given two TED talks (see her 2008 and 2009 talk), but don't miss her vast bibliography. TED is currently working with Karen Armstrong on the Charter for Compassion project (bringing together world leaders from the world's major faiths), which she will launch in two weeks.
