The solution was kinda staring us in the face: We decided to just create a reddit for news about reddit. Actually, we made two.
/r/announcements is the low-traffic one, to be used only for important stuff, like changes to the site's functionality. Examples of what you'll see there include:
- This post that you're reading right now
- We're opening up the sponsored link box -- soon anyone will be able to buy one
- You now have a grace period for editing a newly-posted comment without getting a little star
- There's a new way to sort comments
- Awards are back!
From now on, everything posted to blog.reddit.com will be submitted to one of the two. If you don't like it, all you have to do is unsubscribe.
